Investment Focus

HIP has made opportunistic private equity and debt investments in small established companies and low risk early stage companies. Unlike many investment firms, we do not target sectors; rather, we evaluate companies in our targeted transaction size against rigid investment criteria. The firm has substantial investment experience in sectors including energy, manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, education, financial services and cannabis.

We generally target companies with revenues from $5 to $50 million. Selected companies are either profitable or will achieve profitability within 6 months.

HIP seeks to invest between $2 to $5 million of subordinated debt, and alongside investment partners may lead $10 million to $20 million financings. HIP does not limit itself geographically, but emphasizes sourcing opportunities where it has the highest quality contacts.

We do not invest in turnarounds, technology development, or project financings.
